Contamination dust mites self test kits
The Activ Allergy test kit is a specific test for dust mites. Here’s all you have to do: Just load batteries into the miniature vacuum cleaner, insert the test-cassette and vacuum a small measured area of your mattress for thirty seconds. Remove the cassette and release the test solution by pressing the blister. The indicator on the cassette shows you the amount of dust mite allergen present. Refill cassettes are available in packs of five.

Self tests for allergies
Here are six quick, convenient home allergy tests to determine what you’re allergic to. In 30 minutes, you have results that are as accurate as a doctor’s test. Imutest allergen specific tests are simple, safe, accurate and designed to detect higher than normal levels of allergy antibodies (known as IgE) in the blood. All it takes is a tiny blood sample by way of a finger pricker.

An Allergistics UK technician first checks the humidity levels in your home as dust-mites thrive in warm, humid conditions. A permanent hygrometer is a simple, effective and inexpensive way for you to monitor the humidity in any room. Just fix it to the wall and ensure that the humidity stays stable at around 50%. Should the room exceed this acceptable humidity level, it may be worthwhile investing in a dehumidifier. Our technicians will be happy to offer professional advice.

An ideal dehumidifier for a 2-3 bedroom house, it has a three litre water tank for moisture collection or can be plumbed into a drain with a 7mm hose (not supplied) for a permanent dehumidifying solution.
